Spring & Summer Update (Yes... I Know 😅)
When I brought this blog back earlier this year, I confidently promised I'd post monthly updates.
Well... that turned out to be slightly overambitious.
Between recording sessions, mixing projects, festivals, editing, emails, family, last-minute requests and the occasional "this will only take five minutes" (it never does), keeping up with monthly posts became... let's say, optimistic.
So instead of pretending nothing happened, here's a proper recap of everything that kept me busy throughout spring and summer before taking a short break and getting ready for another busy season starting in September.
Loyal Cheaters
One of the biggest projects of the last few months has been working on the first half of the new Loyal Cheaters record.
This new material sounds quite different from anything they've released before. It's rawer, wilder and a little less polished—in the best possible way. Listening to these songs, I completely understand why they wanted me involved in this new chapter. It has been a really exciting record to work on and I can't wait to finish it and then have everyone hear it.
Vibeke Saugestad Band
Another highlight was recording and mixing two brand new songs for the Vibeke Saugestad Band.
While touring Europe, the band stopped for two days specifically to work with me in the studio. Spending time with such experienced musicians was a fantastic experience, especially having people like Ken Fox from The Fleshtones in the room. Sessions like these remind you how much fun recording can be when everyone is simply focused on making great music.
Good Intention
I also finished mixing the debut album by Good Intention, a new band from Sardinia delivering energetic garage punk with strong influences from Bad Nerves and The Hives.
Their first single has just been released and I'm really happy that people can finally start hearing what we've been working on.

Useless 4
Another incredibly fun project was recording the new Useless 4 album, produced by Riccardo Zamboni.
The whole record—including the vocals—was recorded live. Recording a full band playing together is always challenging, but when everything clicks there's an energy that's almost impossible to recreate any other way.
Mocca Chung
Just before the summer break I also started mixing the first single from the upcoming Mocca Chung album, the Austrian pop project led by Zhong from Sino Hearts.
We'll continue working on the rest of the record after the summer, and I'm looking forward to jumping back into it.
Radio Days
The first singles from the upcoming Radio Days album have finally started coming out ahead of the full release in September.
I've loved working on this record, and it's great seeing the songs slowly finding their way into the world.
I recorded the electric guitars, bass and drums for the album at Turangalîla Recording Studio, and mixed the whole record between November and December 2025.

Master Your Mix Podcast
One of the coolest things that happened this summer was being invited as a guest on the Master Your Mix Podcast.
Mike and I had a great conversation about my workflow, why I mix almost exclusively on headphones, the importance of sticking to one monitoring system, my approach to production, saturation, and why I believe doing less often leads to better mixes.
We also talked about why artists usually shouldn't sit through a mix session, and why being willing to fail is still one of the most important skills any young engineer can develop.
It was a really fun conversation, and I'm particularly happy with how much ground we managed to cover.

Punk Rock Raduno
As always, Punk Rock Raduno was one of the highlights of the year.
It's much more than a festival. Every year it becomes an excuse to spend a weekend with friends from all over the world while watching incredible bands.
Like every edition, I recorded every performance, and this winter I'll be mixing another live record from those recordings.
But there's already a great result from last year's festival that you can listen to right now.
The Dopamines — Live at Punk Rock Raduno
Released this year for Punk Rock Raduno 9, this fantastic live album captures The Dopamines' 2025 performance at the festival. I had the pleasure of recording and mixing it, and I'm really happy that this one is finally out there.
Capturing the energy of a Punk Rock Raduno show and then trying to keep that same feeling alive in the mix is exactly the kind of challenge I enjoy.

Something New Is Coming...
I also managed to buy a very special piece of vintage gear.
At the moment it's still under the careful hands of my trusted technician before joining my gears permanently, so I'll keep the mystery alive a little longer. I'll be talking about it in a dedicated Instagram reel very soon.

A huge thank you to every artist, band, producer and friend who trusted me with their music over the last few months.
I'll be taking a little time off now... or at least I'll pretend to. There are always a few last-minute mixes, edits or emergency emails that somehow appear during "vacation."
Still, a short break with my family will do me good, and I can't wait to get back into the studio at the beginning of September to start working on another batch of exciting records.
